When Kybella is injected into these cells, it destroys the cell’s membrane which causes the cell to die. Is Kybella Safe?

The FDA approved the use of Kybella injections to dissolve submental fat beneath the chin in mid-2015. This was after eight years of clinical studies with over 1,000 patients with moderate to severe double chin fat, it was found to be both safe and effective for double chin elimination.

Are Kybella Results Permanent?

Because fat cells are destroyed by Kybella, the results are likely to last for several years. Some researchers believe that the results might be permanent. For patients in the clinical studies, the results were still intact after two years. Maintaining a healthy lifestyle and body weight also promotes the longevity of results.

Is Kybella Painful?

During clinical trials, patients commonly reported swelling, bruising, numbness and mild pain following the injections. This can be managed with an injectable numbing agent before treatment and topically applying ice to reduce swelling. Any discomfort associated with the treatment generally subsides within a few days.
